Ola at Borders
“Ola Hadi became the first Puna Press author to read at Borders! We have placed books at Borders before, notably ‘Barzilla’ at the Mission Valley Borders, but this was the first in store appearance. It went well. We sold some books and Ola read to the people. She read my favorite poem from ‘The Moon & Metaphor’, ‘One Vast Concentration Camp’, and the crowd loved it as well. It is a good poem and carries weight. I nominated Ola’s book for the Pushcart Prize. It is one of the more prestigious small press awards and would be a nice feather for the cap. Here are the letter sent to the pushcart and some pics from Borders.”
Ola at Borders Saturday, November 7th and Pushcart letter.
Dear Pushcart Press and Pushcart Prize Editors,
We are nominating “The Moon & Metaphor” by Ola Hadi for the 2009 Pushcart Prize.
Ola’s poetry is the modern America. Where immigration isn’t a life choice but life, where being a woman is living your passions, where questioning your beliefs is your right, and where pursuing happiness is a race held every day.
Enjoy the book.
Sincerely,
Ted Washington, CEO
Puna Press
