Jacobs Presents the Poets and Painters Spoken Word, Music & Graffiti Art Festival – Back for the 2nd year!
Happening at Market Creek Amphitheater and Festival Park on Saturday, June 24, this FREE event will feature a long line-up of diverse performers! They include:
– Jacobs Center artists-in-residence: award winning spoken word artist/playwright Gill SOTU and internationally recognized Writerz Blokgraffiti artists Jose Venegas and Sergio Gonzalez.

The festival also includes a spoken word poetry slam competition, graffiti arts competition, a family storytelling stage, graffiti artists creating live murals, and hands-on workshops.
You don’t know who Norman Zelaya is? You’ve never heard of the group Los Delicados? Might be time to check him out. Mark your calendars. Make sure that you let others know. Norman Zelaya is perhaps one of the finest writers in the United States. Come and check him out. I’ll provide the food, you bring your drinks and buy his first book. You won’t regret it. Straight from La Mission to the 619, Norman will be reading from his new book, Orlando & Other Stories from Pochino Press. As an added bonus, you’ll get a reading by Taco Shop Poet, Adolfo Guzman-Lopez. June 24th at 6 pm. Music by James Andrew Burton and Jerome Salazar.This is another poetry event brought to you by POETS. PEOPLE. WORD.
