Pruitt Igoe Releases Aliens
Pruitt Igoe releases their pandemic project Aliens. The line-up for this recording is Ted Washington – vocals, Krista Coppedge – synth, trumpet, Jon Cordova – guitar and Andromeda Breeze – dance, percussion. The band had the great honor and pleasure to work with Ben Moore at Singing Serpent Studios. His engineering prowess is legendary and the sound is ridiculous. That was followed with the mastering expertise of Rafter Roberts, another San Diego legend.
Aliens is now available on Bandcamp.
Unlike most extraterrestrials, Alien has one foot on the ground, another on the moon and its third leg on the sun. Each arm – simultaneously existing in different wormholes – reaches for different worlds and Its head floats about the galaxy like an unanchored planet. One does not merely listen to Alien, one travels through space with it.
Many words are needed to describe this, this . . . entity. It is bold, frank, esoteric, abrupt, confrontational, belligerent, noisy, quiet, introspective, mesmerizing, loud, busy, boisterous, barbaric, bombastic, palliative and tranquilizing. We could go on. There just is no single word to describe it and is therefore necessary to make one up. And that word is Ambentia: ambient dementia.
Enjoy, earthlings.
