Big Easter Weekend During National Poetry Month!
The big weekend starts 7pm., Friday, April 14th with our own Michael Klam and one of our favorite poets and friend Jimmy Jazz featured in The Gelato Poetry Series. Michael will be reading selected poems from Emma & The Buddha Frog and his soon to be released collection of poetry Cheapest Flight to Paradise. Jimmy Jazz will read from his recently released Book of Books. Michael and Jimmy have performed together in the past and were in the avant-garde performance group Anarchist Think Tank. The show promises to be unconventional and should not to be missed. The Gelato Poetry Series is located at Korky’s Ice Cream & Coffee, 2371 San Diego Ave., San Diego, CA 92110. More information about the show can be accessed here.
Klam and Jazz will be featured the following night, 7pm., Saturday, April 15th in Vermin On The Mount. This event is noted for hosting writers who poke a finger in the eye of the establishment with their outlandishness and no holds barred approach to writing and performing. Vermin On The Mount will be located at Studio Unseen, 4610 Park Blvd., San Diego, CA. More information can be gleaned here.
Ted Washington will be reading to close the weekend on Easter Sunday, 6:30pm. The Inkspot located in San Diego Writers Ink, 2730 Historic Decatur Rd, Suite 202, San Diego, CA. will host the reading. Featured are performances by Jan Beatt, Judy Reeves, Rae Rose, and Ron Salisbury. More information available here.
