A Great Week!!!
I don’t make many posts about my day-to-day and this won’t be about about a day but the week. This was a good week, maybe even a great week. Had a couple unexpected days off and made them count.Sunday was the first of these. I slept and did laundry at a leisurely pace and rode the bike. Very relaxed day.
Tuesday was the second of the unexpected days off. I went to 11:11 Studio and had Paul Body shoot my newest addition to the Tidal Series. I will soon be posting this series on my Saatchi Art Online page.
Tidal Series: Imperial Beach
Tidal Series: Imperial Beach 2
Tidal Series: Imperial Beach 3
On the same day I had the photos printed for my next commission Layla. It’s my friend Brianna’s dog. This will be the fourth of the five dog portraits I will do. Then I went to the Hyde Gallery to view an exhibition of paintings by Marianela de la Hoz. Her work is incredible. She medium is egg tempura paint. Very old school and painstaking; she even mixes her own pigments. It was inspiring. Check her out here.
Followed that with prepping my work space and submitting some poetry for publication and submitting art for a solo exhibition in Encinitas. Hoping for the best.
Thursday I host Palabra at La Bodega Gallery in Barrio Logan. Start time for the reading is 7p and the traffic around that time is horrible. To avoid this I went downtown to the San Diego Public Library. That place is beyond. I LOVE it there. Could spend months there easily. The rare books section rules.
Edwin Decker is one the Puna Press authors and was the featured artist this night. This was the first themed night we’ve ever had and it was, The Blue Light: Adult Themed Poetry. The sculpture says it all, Ed couldn’t look. Great night!
Unsure how this week concludes, my car is at the mechanic as compose this. But it doesn’t matter. Feeling inspired and I’m ready to make some art and hand make a few books too. Whoohoo!!!
Enjoy your life when possible.
Peace
Ted
